My recent blood pressure must have surely sky rocket up upon the decision to start another business start-up with two of my best friends.

Friend A, is a successful steel structure businessman whom have done good for his life by working hard smart and being able to live a comfortable yet successful life. A great University mate from Melbourne.

Friend Z, another good friend that I have known since my University days, whom have gone on obtaining a civil engineering degree from Melbourne and have been working for the construction of the housing flats in Singapore.

We set up our company on the hope of continuing the University’s bond and in the hope of making some more money.

Friend Z is a very stringy person whose upbringing is being taught to be “study hard, get into a good school and get a good job after graduation.” Normally, these sort of people are blame everyone else for being poor but never have the will power to start their own business.

They have a million reason NOT to start a business and they are comfortable just by working for others and being an employee.

To keep the story short, we wanted to start a construction sector that demands a lot of research, hard work and a lot of capital to start up. This is not a typically teenagers start-up that you sit in Co-Working space and pretend to start the most amazing APP and have fun at the same time.

ANYONE CAN DO THAT!

We are talking about doing tons of different research, the barrier of entry is way high and it will take a lot of effort to get this started.

Friend A is very supportive as he knows the difficulties of starting a business BUT Friend Z, only wants to be rich but he did not want to do anything that is demanding. He would rather be an employee, watch drama at work, and complain everyday on his life.

It got to a point that I told Friend A not to loop Friend Z into any research. I was totally prepare to cut him off from this business venture.

I did not understand why, that Friend Z, already poor and being employee that he still find reasons NOT TO GET RICH.

My wife told me to cut him loose and not to waste time on such friend.

I am just puzzled, isn’t life about working smart hard in order to get the maximum results in life?
